In 2009 DO Systems deployed two DA42 MPP aircraft to support Operation BROCKDALE in Iraq. These aircraft were the first Military Registered Civilian Owned Aircraft (MRCOA) to be used on operations with civilian aircrew. Each aircraft flew at least two sorties per day with a 98% despatch rate, in all DO Systems flew over 2500 hours in support of UK forces with a 24 hour surge capacity. The aircraft were equipped with Safire 3 FLIR turrets and were used in a variety of roles including convoy protection, IED protection, VVIP top cover and in hot pursuit post attacks on military and civilian targets.
